22-23-&24

Almost Christmas day, and I am back in Vernon !

Dad shared his advent chocolate with me,
Already have had rum and eggnog over at our friend braden's place,
Oh and Christmas cookies and candycane bark.
Isabel (my niece) is adorable as ever, cooing and smiling most of the time.
Been over to see the Toops (steves family) the other day, and already had some delicious titters pepperoni (meat shop in Vernon).

All in all this holiday is starting off swell!

Oh and the greatest thing happening right now: Snow!!!!!!

A simple thought of snow:

Source

I've never really appreciated snow until I've not had any during the winter season. It's such a trivial little thing that people don't really appreciate all that much. I know that some people just don't like it, and that's very fair; but I love it and miss it! The snow is what makes the holiday real for me, it starts the season. I like shoveling it because its true hard work, and when everyone else is out there shoveling as well, it feels like a community activity, shouting across the road at one and other happily, giving a helping hand to suprise another neighbour; and when you're done, going inside for some hot chocolate. I like driving in the snow, its fun, and yes, sometimes it does cause accidents, but for the most part, everyone drives a little slower, it takes time to get places, and reminds us that driving is not something that powers over all, it's just another privelaged activity that we shouldn't take too much advantage of. Snow is wonderful, and as cold as it is, it makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside.

Happy Holidays!

Gingerbread cookies are by far my favorite cookie of them all. I can actually eat an entire batch of these in one day. Canadian Living has a great recipe (linked up top). Tis the season to eat cookies!
